Barneperspektiv – en ressurs i kritisk samfunnsvitenskap: Et faghistorisk bidrag

Sammendrag

Artikkelen er et faghistorisk bidrag som har som mål å synliggjøre tidlige bidrag med et barneperspektiv, i en norsk kontekst. Med utgangpunkt i forskning fra samfunnsvitenskap der barn er informanter og anerkjennes som aktive aktører, tar artikkelen fram argumenter for, og bruk av, barneperspektiv, som her betyr forskerens perspektiv, forestillinger om barn og barndom, tematiske interesser og teoretiske innfallsvinkler. Artikkelen tar utgangspunkt i følgende spørsmål: I hvilken kunnskapsproduksjon kan vi se at et barneperspektiv blir tatt i bruk i norsk samfunnsvitenskap i perioden fra 1969 til tidlig på 1990-tallet? Hvilke kunnskapsinteresser og teoretiske begreper, perspektiver og posisjoner gjøres gjeldende – og muliggjøres? Hvordan har forskning med et barneperspektiv tjent som en ressurs i kritisk samfunnsvitenskap? Hvordan har et barneperspektiv bidratt til fagkritisk virksomhet? Hvilke konstruksjoner av barn aktualiseres i kunnskapsproduksjonen?

The Child's Perspective – A Resource in Critical Social Sciences: A Historiographical Contribution

This article is a historiographical contribution that brings to light early research in the social sciences which adopts a child perspective, within a Norwegian context. Concentrating on research in which children are recognized as active actors and informants, this article presents arguments for, and application of, a child perspective. In this article, a child perspective refers to a researcher’s perspective, images of children and childhood, thematic interests and theoretical approaches. The following questions are pursued: in what kind of knowledge production is a child perspective applied in Norwegian social sciences from 1969 to early 1990s? Which knowledge interests and theoretical concepts, perspectives and positions are applied? How did research with a child perspective serve as a resource in critical social sciences? How did child perspectives contribute? Which constructions of children were actualized and discussed?
